CALLING ALL WCAT PRODUCERS AND WHS VIDEO PRODUCTION STUDENTS……..
WCAT will hold its first WCAT Hometown Summer Video Awards this year.
The WCAT Hometown Summer Video Awards will honor and promote programs created for WCAT’s cable access channel 3 and WHS channel 15.

All “active WCAT producers” and video production students are encouraged to participate.

Programs entered must have had their first telecast between May 1, 2015 and August 31, 2015.

All entries will be judged by a panel of professionals in the video production field.
Winners will be honored at the WCAT Hometown Summer Video Awards Ceremony (to be announced).

WCAT Hometown Summer Video Awards – Criteria and Categories:
All entries will be judged on one or more of the following criteria:

Awards will be presented in one or more of the following categories:

  • Best Editing
  • Best Producer

  • Best Youth Program (under 18 Years Old)
  • Best Community Event
  • Best Music Program
  • Best Documentary Style
  • Best Talk Format Program
  • Best Comedy Show
  • Best Public Service Announcement (PSA)

Recognition:
The awards ceremony will air live on channel 3, and all winners will receive a beautiful personalized plaque. Winning entries will also air on WCAT 3, 15 and 22, and will be featured on WCAT’s website (wcat-tv.org), on WCAT’s YouTube channel (WCAT Winthrop) and on WCAT Facebook.

Feedback:
All participants will be able to view their entry scores and comments from the judges. This will give participants the opportunity to find out what others think of their work and what improvements could be made in the future.
